Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy flagged off south India’s lst Kisan rail on 9 Sept 20. The one of its kind train will be particularly helpful for farmers from the Rayalaseema region by transporting their produce from Anantapur to New Delhi. The train carried 214 tonnes of tomato, 138 tonnes of banana, 32 tonnes of sweet orange, 11 tonnes of papaya, 8 tonnes of melons, etc.
The Kisan Rail connects the farms to the agricultural markets. The first ‘Kisan Rail’ from south India has been started from Anantapuramu on Wednesday carrying 322 tonnes of fresh fruits to the famous Azadpur Mandi in the India.
